MAKE EXCELLENT CARE PERSONAL - AND MOVE IT FORWARD FASTER

At Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH), we are not standing still. We are building, modernizing, and rethinking how care is delivered—while managing real system pressures and growing demand.

We are looking for an experienced results-driven clinical leader who thrives on turning priorities into action, ideas into execution, and plans into measurable impact.

If you are energized by complexity, motivated by accountability, and driven to accelerate change, this is your opportunity to lead where it matters most.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive, the Director of Clinical Services is a key operational and strategic leader responsible for advancing acute care services at GBGH.

This role goes beyond oversight. It is about driving performance, improving patient experience, advancing quality, building strong relationships, and leading change that sticks.

Working in a collaborative team-style leadership model, you will foster strong relationships, contribute to a positive culture, and lead with others toward excellent patient outcomes:

  • Translate strategic priorities into execution on the ground
  • Lead teams through high-pressure, high-impact environments
  • Champion patient-centered, high-quality care
  • Help shape a hospital that is safe, responsive, efficient, and innovative

Your portfolio may evolve as organizational priorities shift—this is a role for someone who is adaptable, systems-minded, and ready to lead where the need is greatest. This role is participating in an Administrator on call rotation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Driving Results & Operational Excellence

  • Deliver on GBGH’s Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan with clear, measurable outcomes
  • Lead day-to-day clinical operations with a focus on patient flow, access, quality, and safety
  • Use data and performance metrics to identify issues and act quickly
  • Advance service improvements that enhance efficiency, patient experience, and outcomes
  • Play a central role in managing capacity pressures and system constraints
  • Leading Change That Sticks
  • Move initiatives from concept to execution—on time and with impact
  • Lead quality improvement, innovation, and transformation across your portfolio
  • Identify and champion opportunities for program growth, redesign, and integration
  • Drive alignment with regional and provincial priorities

People & Culture Leadership

  • Build, coach, and support high-performing leaders and teams while cultivating strong, respectful relationships across disciplines
  • Foster a positive culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Partner effectively with Physician Chiefs and interdisciplinary leaders in a shared leadership model focused on positive patient outcomes
  • Navigate complex HR and labour relations issues with confidence and integrity
  • Support staff wellness, retention, and development in a demanding environment

System & Partnership Leadership

  • Represent GBGH in regional and provincial initiatives
  • Strengthen relationships with Ontario Health, community partners, and peer organizations
  • Contribute to system-level solutions and integrated models of care

WHAT YOU BRING

We are looking for a leader who combines strategic thinking with a strong drive for action. A leader who values process as much as outcomes, engages in constructive and respectful dialogue to strengthen decisions, and brings a system-level understanding of hospital operations and external partnerships.

This individual translates fiscal responsibility into practical action, exercises strong judgment in determining readiness, and leads with kindness, integrity, and commitment to teamwork, celebrating and supporting colleagues to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Experience & Credentials

  • Master’s degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience
  • Current registration with a regulated healthcare professional college
  • Experience leading complex clinical operations and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of Ontario’s healthcare system, priorities and regulatory requirements

Leadership Strengths

  • Proven ability to execute and deliver results in challenging environments
  • Exceptional operational, financial, and systems thinking

  • Demonstrated success leading change and transformation
  • Build relationships through trust, authenticity, empathy, and consistency in actions and decisions.
  • Fosters a collaborative team environment where individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered across disciplines.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
